[Guest Post] T Attempts to Purchase VIP Tickets to John Mayer's concert

LiveManila invites guests to write entries for this blog. This is the first, written by T, WG's friend who just wanted to buy her ticket to the concert.

Getting VIP seats to the John Mayer show just might be easiest thing to do. If you went to Hogwarts and were a product of JK Rowling’s awesome imagination, that is. You would just have to take Hermione’s Time Turner, flip it a couple of times until you’re transported back to the second week of March, and then storm Ticketworld. Mission accomplished.

That’s if you want Platinum or Gold tickets. If you’ve got perfect eyesight, fancy binoculars, or don’t mind watching a half-blurred John from a distance, there’s no need for a time travel machine. Ticketworld and Ticketnet are currently selling Silver, Bronze, and General Admission tickets.

Ticketworld started selling tickets mid-March but announced it was holding the sale of tickets during the third week of the month. The sale of tickets resumed a few days later, but Platinum and Gold seats can now be purchased from Channel V only.

As of this writing, the tickets are not yet ready for release, but Channel V is requiring patrons to make reservations over the phone. They are expecting to be able to inform people via SMS about the ticket availability next week. Tickets can be picked up at the Channel V office only, which is located in Timog, which is really near, if you lived in Timog.

Dedicated fans or professional stalkers know the importance of good seats, which you can only get if you happen to be related to Someone Important or are able to purchase tickets early. You’d have to wonder why getting tickets to this show is turning out to be somewhat inconvenient. First, fans complained about the high ticket prices, which the early bird discount presumably addresses. Then comes the erratic ticket-selling.

These things don’t really go a long way into earning concert-goers’ trust and confidence but we hope these issues are sorted out soon and the promoters are able to help create an enjoyable concert experience for the fans.

For more information about tickets, call Ticketworld at 891-9999, Ticketnet at 911-5555 and (not or!) Channel V at 929-2151.
