As LiveManila's resident Korean entertainment fan, I was ecstatic when I found out One Way had scheduled appearances in Manila. I first heard of the group when I saw their cover of Only Look At Me by Taeyang of BigBang on YouTube.
The group had their official debut in Korea only a few months ago and immediately gained fans. It's amazing they're able to visit the Philippines so soon and I'm a happy fan.
Due to a busy schedule, I couldn't see them until the weekend. Hindi ko na-career ang pagiging One Way fan! I wasn't able to go to their Megamall show, so I made sure I would not miss their last show at MoA.
with Christian Bautista
I purchased CDs as soon as I arrived and kept the number stub for the CD signing. The show was scheduled at 5pm on the ads online & the Facebook fan pages, but at MOA the poster said 6pm. There was an event at the Music Hall (Project Dance) and the One Way fans got settled as soon as the area was cleared.
Most seats were taken away and only a few rows were left in the VIP area. The saleslady at the CD booth told me earlier that in previous shows (she didn't specify so I don't know if she meant One Way's previous shows or just shows at SM malls in general) people would stand up on chairs so those in the back could not see well. *shrugs* This was a disadvantage because One Way arrived at around 7PM and the show didn't start until 15 or 20minutes later.
The wait was worth it, because once the show began, everyone in the audience was in high spirits.

[Fancam] WRONG NUMBER
Chance
Chance and YoungSky
Peter
Peter already released a solo album (Showman) in 2008
Jun Young Cho aka Young Sky is the rapper. He's the youngest member, born in 1988 (!)
The guys announced they would be choosing some lucky ladies from the audience. I read fan accounts that they brought girls onstage for Sexy Love. I thought they would step down from the stage and choose from the VIP and possibly even the area for everyone else--I noticed a lot of eager volunteers, but three girls emerged from the side of the stage. I guess they were pre-selected because there were some violent reactions from the girls around me. One said, "Hindi naman pumili! Nakita ko na yan sa Sky dome!"
Ooookay. Calm down, girls ^^
this girl is the luckiest daw (again, heard from the girls around me) because Chance kissed her on the forehead
I have fancam of this but it's still uploading. Apologies especially to the girl partnered with Chance because I stopped recording before the song ended. I would've captured the kiss if I recorded the entire song.
Btw, if any of the lucky girls see this post and would like untagged copies of the photos, please e-mail livemanilaATgmailDOTcom. I'll send you the original files. I have a couple more not uploaded.
The host, a DJ from a local station went onstage to chat with Chance and YoungSky while Peter got ready for his special performance. He had prepared to show off his tap dancing skills. Nice.
with beats + Young Sky rapping
During the autograph signing, I complimented him on his tap dancing and he said he really wanted to prepare something for the fans. He even mentioned he's starting to lose his voice.
A few days before they flew to the Philippines, Chance's solo song & MV was released. I love it!

They ended the show with Magic. Fans were screaming "more, more, more" but they didn't do another number. Instead, they thanked fans over and over. They also called Christian to go back onstage. Before going back to the dressing room to prepare for the CD signing, they asked Christian to ask if there were any jejemons in the audience. LOL!
Overall, it was a good show. The guys have intense stage presence and their confidence just oozes with each performance. You can see how much they enjoy what they do.
They did rounds of three malls here, and various TV shows. I'm sure they charmed everyone they met. I didn't have any other close encounter with them but when I managed a bit of conversation during the CD signing they all seemed very nice. They also gave off a "good friend" vibe, which earns plus points in my book. All three thanked me (and I would guess everyone else) for coming after I told each one I enjoyed the show.
Chance, Peter and YoungSky: thank you for bringing your music to us. Your interest and efforts in learning about my country & our language culture even before you set foot here an is commendable. I've seen few artists do the same.
You really made a lot of fans happy. I hope to meet you again in the Philippines or even Korea.
I sincerely wish you more success (in Korea and other countries as well). Continue to bring joy to people with your music. OneLove.
